Did we mention that our passion is to support local people in Highland Perthshire into employment? We are set up to provide flexible work experience and practical training opportunities in whatever shape or form suits. We can offer one-off visits, a few hours on a weekly basis, project work to the 12 week Certificate of Work Readiness promoted by Skills Development Scotland. We also provide a number of fixed term contracts. We work closely with local businesses to ensure that our training is aligned to their requirements, and to create pathways to employment for our trainees.
As well as gaining practical and technical skills in manufacturing, we can also offer experience in all elements of working in a small business, ie business administration, invoicing, sales and marketing, social media management, office management etc. Working in an office environment also enables our trainees to develop their 'soft skills', such as time management, workplace behaviour and responsibility, and gain vocational qualifications. Learning how to be ‘employable’ is a vital step in supporting our users to their next positive destination.
Since launching, we have worked with over 45 people, including those with learning difficulties, adults rehabilitating from long-term illness or unemployment, school leavers seeking their first employment, current school pupils working toward qualifications or wider experiences or community users. We are delighted to work with people on a regular or ad hoc basis, or on a specific project.
