The Workshop Aberfeldy has been an independent charity since 2016. Over the years we’ve had fantastic support from our community; from our voluntary trustees to our local businesses that support us year on year.

Our aim was to create a bridge between education and employment for young people in Highland Perthshire, where our rural location can limit employment and training opportunities. We wanted to create a genuine business where young people could gain direct practical skills as well as transferable employability skills such as teamwork and time-keeping, empowering them to successfully find employment or further training.

Over time, we’ve created a product range that makes full use of our space and machines, and also requires lots of different skills we can pass on to trainees. We can make anything from large projects like noticeboards and custom tables, to intricate medals with tiny details. Perhaps our most prestigious contract has been making the Kings Award for Enterprise Trophies from 2024.
